Sounds like a crazy idea but it’s true, and probably a genius invention at that. My father was a truck driver before he passed away. I know those guys work long hours and have a hard time keeping going. What would be better then being able to have a nice wake up call anytime you needed it without having to make a pit stop somewhere. Or even just for the family driving to go on vacation where the driver needs something to help them keep focused. Not only does it make coffee though they are able to make tea by placing the tea bags in them and letting the water run through just as if it were making coffee. Just plug it into the 12v outlet and let it go. There are several different styles to meet many coffee on the go needs.

The First example here is a smaller 12 volt 5 cup coffee maker. It’s handy since it comes with the thermo-glass and stay cool handle but more impressively is the reusable basket type filter and the hot plate to keep your coffee or tea warm. Plus it’s less then 20 bucks which defiantly will save rather than spending $1.50 for a cup of coffee at gas stations.

The Second example makes a whopping 12 cups. This ones a little more expensive at just over 30 bucks but the features defiantly make up for it. Besides the hot plate and other features of the first, this also has a nice design that allows it to stay secure while moving so it won’t spill all over. Also you don’t have to wait for it to make the whole pot as it has a feature where it pauses so you can pour a cup.

This great cooler is made to last – I love taking mine with me on the boat, the long weekends are made so much easier as this cooler will not require me to untie from the other boaters and run to the dock for an expensive and very small bag of ice every few hours! The easy access to either side is a plus, as the cuddy has minimal room, and the bumper pads are great, as the trips from the dock may be a little rough at times when loading.

Now That Summer is over, I am using it in my van, taking the trips to grandmas house has never been more relaxing, all the kids snacks fit nicely inside and I am saving a fortune on snacks at the convenient stores. My hubby is trying to confiscate the cooler for his work truck, but I guess Santa will have to bring him one this Christmas, because he is not getting mine!

Audiovox 15 inch 12 volt TV for Truckers and Campers

This is the Audiovox FPE1507DV and it is the perfect 12 volt travel television for both campers and the professional trucker. Weighing in at less than eight and a half pounds and having a built in handle this TV is extremely portable. This TV as the rest of our televisions has an ATSC digital tuner built in so you can still watch broadcast TV after February of 2009 and it is also High Definition compatible.

12 volt operation draws less than 5 amps. The dimensions are 16 3/4″W x 3 1/2″D x 14″H. The stand adds about 2″ to the height and makes the depth 6 1/2″. The screen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels and is 480p and 480i compatible.

The input options include: Component video, VGA for use as a PC monitor, Audio Video, S-Video and Coaxial for use with your satellite, cable, antenna or VCR. This model also includes an audio video output option.

Some other built in features are parental control with the B-Chip and Closed Caption.

All too often we find ourselves in a scary situation because we’re on the phone deep in conversation driving down the road.
