Keep in mind that most motor homes 2008 model year and earlier with TV’s built into the “dog house” will not receive broadcast over the air programming after February of 2009. Most of these television set also operate using 110v ac power. 110v ac power to these units is usually only available while hooked up to 110v ac power at a campsite, while running your generator or if you have a power inverter installed to run from your 12 volt power source. Power inverters running a 110v ac TV draw a lot more power from your batteries than a genuine 12 volt travel television. In general a 12 volt TV will only draw from 5 to 8 amps of dc power and that’s with the built in DVD player in operation.
