I used to do local truck driving. Recently I decided to take an OTR trucking job. I was ready for a change of scenery, but didn’t want to actually move. I figure this is the best solution for me. I realized that I would basically be living in my truck. What I didn’t take into consideration was the different climates I would be driving through. I’m from the south; born and raised in L.A. (that’s Lower Alabama). The weather is pretty nice all year round. It can get a little chilly during the winter months, but normally only at night. For one of my first long hauls I traveled north to Massachusetts towards the end of November. I knew it would be cold, I just didn’t realize how cold. I figured it was only the beginning of winter, how cold could it be?
Needless to say I was shocked to find that the average high was the same as our average low. I really wasn’t prepared for just how cold it could get at night there. I was sure happy to get back south to warmer weather.
When I was told that I would be traveling to Denver, CO. in January, I got prepared. I went online to find a 12 Volt bunk warmer, a 12 Volt Heater, and some extra blankets. I wanted to make sure I was staying warm all night. I found this website during my search. I liked the way the site looked. It is very professional and easy to navigate. I liked the contact information being at the top of the site. Normally you have to spend 20 minutes trying to locate a phone number to contact the people running the site. The prices were also great. Now, I was pretty willing to spend just about anything to stay warm, but the price I found on this site was very reasonable. So now I have everything I need to travel to the north in the dead of winter and still be comfortable. I also grabbed a 12 Volt coffee maker while I was on the site. I have everything I need to stay warm in my truck, but I didn’t like the idea of waking up, rolling out of bed and stepping out into a blizzard to get my morning coffee. Now I just brew it in the truck and stay nice and warm.
