My husband and I have always enjoyed camping. When our children were young it was tradition to spend most of the summer on camping trips. This was a great way for us to see different places and spend time together as a family. We would tent camp and cook over a campfire. No electronics, not that many could be taken along back then. It was just us and nature. Now that we are retired we have a lot more time to travel and camp. Sleeping in a tent on the ground isn’t so much of an option for us now though. We tried different cots and air mattresses, but it was just too much.

We bought a small RV a few years ago so we could travel in comfort. We didn’t want all the appliances and whatnots that would make our RV like a traveling home. We never went to the electric camp sites. We still wanted it to be a more rugged camping even though we were unable to sleep in a tent. As the years have past we have had many enjoyable camping trips. In recent years we have begun taking our grandchildren along. Now that they are getting older they tend to complain more and more about our “outdated” camping style. This got us thinking and we decided maybe it was time to join the modern age and buy some 12 volt products for the RV.

We heard about this website from a fellow camper during a recent camping trip. I truly didn’t expect things to be so affordable. I actually ended up buying more than I had planned. I wanted to get an oven, coffee maker, heater and maybe a small TV. I got all of that plus some. I was extremely excited to see the 12 volt crock pot. It makes dinner so much easier when we are going to be away from the site for most of the day. I also bought a 12 volt fan and an RV GPS unit. I saw other items that I will be back to purchase in the near future. Joining the modern world really makes our camping trips more enjoyable.

I also was reluctant to buy 12 volt products. I wanted my kids and grand-kids to experience true camping. But I realized having a few appliances for comfort doesn't take away from the trip, it actually makes it more enjoyable.
