After being laid off I started a new career as a truck driver pulling refrigerated material. I go into a lot of areas that I’m not familiar with. I used to just follow online directions because I didn’t trust a GPS. I tried out a friends TND700 for a week and now I follow the IntelliRoute TND because it routes me correctly. It even shows me the nearest truck stops and weigh stations.

Many of the locations I deliver to are in very small towns. Frequently the address I have is for the office instead of the shipping dock. When I finally do find the dock, I save the information in the TND710. Once I was hauling to a site about 30 miles off the highway. All I had was the physical address and

the road name. My IntelliRoute TND710 found it, no problem.

There are routing situations that all drivers can relate. There are times when mapping websites cannot provide adequate directions for trucks, or the shipper/supplier doesn’t give directions to their location. The TND710 really comes in handy in these situations. It has even saved me miles on routes that I’ve run multiple times before! It’s shown me new ways of getting to the site that are shorter and faster than I previously knew about.

Recently I was on a back road in Florida, and I had planned to go down the same road I always do. The IntelliRoute TND710 guided me a different way through the woods and saved me almost 13 miles of driving. I was able to pick up another load that day. Saving 13 miles doesn’t seem like much, but in a career where every minute and every mile is money, 13 miles makes a huge difference.

Great to hear you're back working. Jobs are few and far between anymore. Sounds like the GPS unit you own really helps out. I've been thinking of getting my son a newer GPS for his truck. Probably take a look at this model here you seem to think is great.
